The philosophy of Kate Byrne Yoga and Wellbeing is based on my personal belief that both Yoga and Reflexology can help support our mental and physical health. Having always been interested in the many positive benefits that exercise and well being can bring to the body, for many years found that the practice of yoga provided me with a sense of balance and gave me the ability to cope with the stresses of a busy career in the corporate world.
During a particularly challenging time of my life when personal issues threatened to overwhelm me, I found myself being drawn towards the idea of training as a Yoga teacher. Initially studying with Bahia Yoga in Nottingham under course directors Jasmin Bahia and Jake Dartington the course was intense, exhausting and completely different to what I was currently doing but… I loved it!
It gave me a hunger to just keep on learning and exploring and have since studied advanced level Yin with the wonderful Sarah Lo, a leading Yin Yoga and meditation teacher.
My journey with Yoga has been amazing, life changing in fact, and I have been so lucky to be able to combine Yoga with a love of travel having practised and taught in India, Australia and across Europe.
So far my journey has been a never ending process of learning, I am fascinated by the body, movement and the subtle energy that flows through us at all times.
Its this fascination that in turn has led me into the wonderful world of Reflexology, a non- invasive complementary health therapy that can be effective in promoting deep relaxation and well being. Using the theory that all the systems and organs of the body are mirrored or reflected in the feet or other small peripheral parts of the body a reflexologist will work to bring balance and harmony to the body by touch, aiding the body to work as well as it can.
